How It Works

Explore Who You AreEvaluate Where You StandExecute What Matters

Fathom turns self-knowledge into daily action through nine components, organised in three modes. This is how the parts connect, and what you actually do with them.

    The Logic

Lead Life - Don’t Let Life Lead You

Fathom is built on a single idea: what you do each day traces back to who you are. Most tools start with tasks that come from nowhere. Fathom starts with self-knowledge, then uses it to inform evaluation and action.

    01

    The Assessment Provides The Snapshot

Most people start with the assessment: a quick, uncalibrated reading across all nine components that shows where you stand today and where to look first.

    02

    Self-Knowledge Provides The Inputs

Explore captures your Values, Traits and Principles: the standards you measure every later decision against.

    03

Evaluation Shows Where You Actually Stand

Evaluate uses your Pillars, Drivers and Strengths to establish where your life stands now.

    04

Goals Turn That Reading Into Direction

You choose Goals in response to that reading, rather than adopting targets set by someone else.

    05

Habits & Tasks Translate Direction Into Daily Action

You create Habits and Tasks that support those Goals - the direction becomes your day.

    06

Dashboard & Aidan Draw On The Same Information

The Dashboard and Aidan use everything you've built in different ways: one organises your day, the other gives advice grounded in it.

    The Three Modes

    Each Mode Has One Job

Each mode’s output informs the next. The nine components link to their individual guides if you want more detail.

    Evaluate

    See Where You Stand

Evaluate is an honest audit of your life as it stands, so any change starts from where you actually are.

    Pillars

The state of the six areas of your life.

A clear read on Work, Wellbeing, Wealth, Recreation, Connection and Environment, showing which areas are thriving and which are being quietly neglected.

Outcome: A balanced picture of where life is strong and where it needs attention.

    Execute

    Take Action & Get Results

Execute turns everything above into a daily system, so what you do delivers results. You can see your life improving.

    Goals

    What you’re aiming for.

Clear targets that give your days direction, each one linked to where you’re going and the areas of life you’re building.

Outcome: A list of goals worth committing to, chosen rather than inherited.

    A Worked Example

One Value - Followed All The Way To Today

A fictional example showing how one decision can inform the next. You choose every step. Fathom stores the resulting Values, Pillar scores, Goals, Habits and Tasks in one system.

    Value

Your health matters more than any single deadline.

    Pillar Finding

Your Wellbeing Pillar comes out lowest of the six.

    Goal

Be fit and rested enough to lead at full capacity this year.

    Habit

A 30-minute walk before your first meeting, tracked daily.

    Task

Block 07:30 to 08:00 on Thursday for the walk.

    Dashboard

The walk appears in today’s actions alongside the Goal and Wellbeing information that informed it.

    Aidan

If the walk slips while work Tasks increase, you can ask Aidan to weigh it against your health Value, Wellbeing score and Goal.

    FAQ

    Practical Questions

    What Is Fathom?
Fathom is a personal development system for executives and professionals. Nine frameworks that turn self-knowledge into daily action. Explore. Evaluate. Execute. You set the direction, take an honest reading of where you stand, then turn it into what you do each day.
    Who Is Fathom For?
Fathom is built for executives and professionals - capable, successful people whose days are set by everyone but them. It suits anyone who wants to live and work deliberately rather than reactively, and who is willing to answer honest questions and act on what they learn.
    How Much Does Fathom Cost?
Fathom membership costs £45 a month or £450 a year. The Fathom assessment is open to everyone and requires no email, so you can see where you stand before paying anything. There is no free tier; every member gets all nine frameworks and Aidan, the AI coach.
How Is Fathom Different from a Coaching App?
Coaching gives you an expert in the room; Fathom gives you a system you run yourself. Most tools solve a fragment - a task app, a journal, a habit tracker. Fathom's nine frameworks work as one system, so what you do shows up as measurable improvement in where you stand.
    Where should I start?
Explore, Evaluate then Execute is the recommended sequence. Within each mode, begin with the framework most relevant to what you are working through now.
Do I have to complete everything before Fathom is useful?
No. Each framework you complete adds information to your Fathom profile. The Dashboard can display it immediately, and you can include it in an Aidan session. You do not need to complete all nine before either becomes useful.
How does Aidan use my information?
You choose which Fathom areas to include, and Aidan draws only on those. Its advice is built on what you've stored, such as your Values, Pillar scores and Goals, and it cannot draw on an area you have not completed.
What does the Dashboard show, and can I change it?
By default the Dashboard leads with Execute, your Goals, Habits and Tasks, followed by Evaluate and Explore, so today’s actions come first. You choose which components appear, in what order and whether to show progress trends.
What happens when I update a Value or a Goal later?
You can revisit any framework and update it whenever your situation changes. Your Goals, Habits and Tasks are also editable, so you can revise them to reflect a change in your Values or priorities.
